Protect Your Credit/Debit card
Here are few tips to protect your credit/debit card information;
* Do not give away your card to any unauthorized individual. Hotel waiters, counter staff, etc as there are possibility that they may duplicate applicable information from your Credit/Debit card to make fake cards. Please be attentive about it whenever you handover your card at any payment counters.
* Always be firm that the card is swiped in your presence & ensure that there is only one swipe & that is on the terminal with bank stickers on it.
* If you suspect anything at the counter, call your bank for further guidance.
* Keep your Card receipts/Charge-slips safe & dispose them off with awareness.
* Never give your Account details, Password or other security information to any illegal person.
* Never provide your Card No, CW & PIN No, etc by email.
* Never write down or record your PIN, Password or other security information anywhere.
* Always take sensible steps to keep your card secure in your personal custody & PIN, Password & other safety information secret at all the times.
* If you change your PIN you should choose your new PIN carefully.
* Always learn your PIN, Password & other security information & wipe out the same the hint notice that you received.
* Do not keep your chequebook & Credit/Debit Cards together.
* Do not keep the blank Cheque leaved signed.
* Do not allow anyone else your Credit/Debit card, PIN, Password or other security information.
*Always write the payee name on the Cheque before sending it. (Write such Cheque with carbon on the reverse to avoid chemical alterations if sent by post/courier.)
If you are paying a Cheque into a bank account, always write on the Cheque the name of the account holder {abc bank acc-xyz}.
You should draw a line through unused space on the Cheque so unauthorized person cannot add extra numbers or names.
* Visit your banking site directly. Avoid accessing the site through a link from another site & verify it as there is chances that hackers may alter the domain name displayed.
* Do not to use cyber cafes to access our Internet banking sites.
* We advise you to update your computer with latest antivirus software regularly. A suitable firewall installed in a computer to protect your computer & its contents from the outsiders on the web would be an added security measure over Internet.
